Certified EMDR Therapist

EMDRIA Approved Consultant

Jennifer Sorensen is a certified EMDR psychotherapist, an EMDRIA approved EMDR consultant, and is passionate about helping others heal through the power of EMDR therapy. She uses EMDR therapy as a comprehensive psychotherapy approach and finds it compatible with all theoretical orientations. She has worked in the helping professions since 2004, has extensive training in treating trauma, and continues to attend trainings to further her knowledge in the practice of EMDR therapy.  She enjoys working with individuals experiencing attachment issues, PTSD, Dissociative Identity Disorder, behavioral and substance addictions, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

As an EMDR therapist who treats complex developmental trauma, she finds the therapeutic relationship a necessary part of the healing journey as attachment wounds heal. She enjoys exploring the mechanisms underlying how and why we attach and form relational bonds, and what happens when things go wrong.

Jennifer excels in a variety of therapeutic approaches and techniques including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness.

Jennifer finds her connection and healing through nature, family, horsemanship, music, and God.
